Colorado Buffaloes kicked Will Oliver didn't let that missed field goal bother him, as he wound up kicking a 48-yarder on the Buffs' next drive. In the second quarter, the Buffs took the 10-7 lead on a Tyler Hansen touchdown throw.
At the start of the second quarter, Washington went for it on fourth down, only to see Carl Winston lose three yards on the play. A roughing the passes penalty aided the Buffs while in their own territory, putting them at Washington State's 32-yard line. A second personal foul put the Buffs inside the 20-yard line. Rodney Stewart then came up with an eight-yard line, but was denied on his next rush.
Tyler Hansen dropped back on the next play and threw a fade pass to Paul Richardson, which landed in his hands for the touchdown.
