The Colorado Buffaloes got off to a quick start with an interception on the first drive of the game. Ray Polk intercepted MArshall Lobbestael at the Colorado 28-yard line and returned it all the way to Washington State's 20-yard line. Lobbsestael and the Cougars had been threatening to score after a big pass to Carl Winston and two nice runs by Winston and Rickey Galvin.
However, the Buffs weren't able to take advantage of the turnover. Rodney Stewart picked up eight yards on the ground, but Tyler Hansen threw an incompletion on third down. Will Oliver, who had been perfect on six field goal attempts before this game, had his 29-yard attempt blocked.
The Cougars are once again moving down the field and edging their way closer into Buffs territory. Can the Buffs hold their ground?
