BYU-San Diego State: Jimmer Fredette's 43 Points Send SDSU To 1st Loss

The ranks of the undefeated in college basketball have been reduced to one: the Ohio St. Buckeyes (21-0). On Wednesday night, the No. 9 BYU Cougars sent the San Diego St. Aztecs (20-1) to their first loss of the season, 71-58. The Aztecs reached No. 4 in both the AP poll and the Coaches poll this past week.

Jimmer Fredette scored 43 points for the Cougars on 14-of-24 shooting (5-of-8 from beyond the arc) and 10-for-11 at the free throw line. He pulled down four boards as well. The second-leading scorer for the Cougars was Brandon Davies, who scored 14 points.

San Diego State's Kawhi Leonard scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds despite being sick before the game.

The Cougars improved to 20-1 this season and are 6-0 in the conference. Their only loss came back in December to the UCLA Bruins.
