While the Colorado Buffaloes aren't in the preseason AP College Basketball Poll, four Big 12 teams did make the opening poll. Kansas State is the highest at No. 3 (receiving two first-place votes), followed by No. 7 Kansas, No. 15 Missouri and No. 16 Baylor. However, the Buffs did receive seven points to at least receive a mention in the preseason poll. Texas was the other team to receive points in the AP poll, being the first team out with 107 points.
↵Kansas State, Kansas, Missouri, Baylor and Texas were all ranked in the ESPN/USA Today College Basketball Top 25 poll. The Colorado Buffaloes did not receive any votes.
↵As Nate Timmons wrote earlier in the week, the Buffs are a team to be excited about this season with Alec Burks and Cory Higgins. The Buffs kick off their season on Fri., Nov. 12 with a home game against Idaho State. Big 12 play begins on Sat., Jan. 8, 2011 against the Missouri Tigers at home.
