While the Colorado Buffaloes aren't in the preseason AP College Basketball Poll, four Big 12 teams did make the opening poll. Kansas State is the highest at No. 3 (receiving two first-place votes), followed by No. 7 Kansas, No. 15 Missouri and No. 16 Baylor. However, the Buffs did receive seven points to at least receive a mention in the preseason poll. Texas was the other team to receive points in the AP poll, being the first team out with 107 points.
