Avalanche Free Agency: GM Greg Sherman Talks About Restricted Free Agents Erik Johnson, Ryan O'Reilly

The Colorado Avalanche offseason has progressed at a rapid pace, with the team signing a slew contracts over the previous week. But one front that has seen little movement is that of the restricted free agents Ryan O'Reilly, Erik Johnson and Jamie McGinn. GM Greg Sherman spoke with the Denver Post recently about the trio of unsigned players, saying they are still in the discussion stage:

"From my perspective, we’ve been having ongoing discussions with the agents for both [O'Reilly and Johnson], for all of our restricted guys. As you know, we’ve been able to sign several of our restricted guys over the last month here, and our goals are the same ultimately for Erik, for Ryan and Jamie as we move here into July."

The Avalanche finished the 2011-12 season with a 41-35-6 record, but missed the playoffs with a total of 88 points.
