Milan Hejduk Contract: Avalanche Signs Veteran Forward To 1-Year Deal

According to the Denver Post, the Colorado Avalanche have re-signed RW Milan Hejduk to a 1-year, $2 million deal. The 35-year-old forward has played the entirety of his 13-year NHL career with the Avalanche, making his debut in the 1998-99 season as a 22-year-old.

In the 2011-12 NHL season, Hajduk played all but one game for the Avs, appearing in 81 games while averaging 17:01 minutes on ice with 14 goals and 23 assists. And judging by the the team's official release, Hajduk also offered an extra coach on the ice:

"Over the years, Milan has been an instrumental part of our organization’s success," said Avalanche General Manager/Executive Vice President Greg Sherman. "He has represented this franchise with class and will continue to complement the young nucleus of players we have been building this team around."
