The Colorado Avalanche gave up a goal in the second period, but they still lead 2-1 over the Nashville Predators going into the final period of Thursday night's game. Colorado scored both of its goals during the first period, and since then it has just been maintaining that lead.
With Colorado leading 2-0 nearly midway through the second period, Nashville's David Legwand got the puck past Colorado goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere to slice the lead in half. The Predators had the clear advantage in the period, getting 14 shots on goal over the 20 minutes compared to just five by the Avalanche. Nashville had two power plays during the period as well, but couldn't capitalize on either one.
