Colorado Avalanche Training Camp 2011: Seven Players Reassigned As Roster Trimmed

The Colorado Avalanche have made their first round of cuts, as they have reassigned seven players from their training camp roster.

Mike Brennan and Zach Cohen have been reassigned to the Lake Erie Monsters, the Avalanche's AHL affiliate. Cohen has played parts of the last two seasons in Lake Erie and is in the final year of his entry level contract.

Four members of the 2011 Draft Class have been reassigned to their junior league teams, including Gabriel Beaupre (6th round), Dillon Donnelly (7th round).

Two members of the 2010 Draft Class have also been reassigned to their junior league teams; Troy Rutkowski (5th round), and Stephen Silas (4th round). Goalie Sami Aittokallio (4th round) enjoyed a breakout camp and will return to his team in Finland for this season.

2011's first round draftees Gabriel Landeskog and Duncan Siemens remain with the club for now, with at Landeskog a likely bet to make the Opening Night roster. Watch for another round of cuts this week after the beginning of preseason play.
