The 2011 Colorado Avalanche training camp roster and schedule were announced on Monday. The puck is almost ready to drop.

The Colorado Avalanche announced their 2011 training camp schedule and roster on Monday. We're just 18 days away from the opening of training camp on Friday, Sept. 16. Veterans report that day and will need to wait until the 17th for the first full day of training camp to begin.

From Sept. 17-19, the Avalanche hold open practice in Englewood, CO, before they head to Colorado Springs to play the annual Burgundy/White game on Sept. 20. Game time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. MT.

Once they are done with the intrasquad game, the Avalanche have just one day off before they start their six-game preseason schedule. Their schedule is as follows:

Thursday, Sept. 22 - at Dallas, 6:30 p.m. MT
Friday, Sept. 23 - St. Louis Blues, 7:00 p.m. MT
Sunday, Sept. 25 - Dallas, 6:00 p.m. MT
Wednesday, Sept. 28 - Los Angeles Kings, 7:00 p.m. MT
Thursday, Sept. 29 - at St. Louis, 6:00 p.m. MT
Saturday, Oct. 1 - vs. Los Angeles in Las Vegas, 7:00 p.m. MT

This will be a great time to get a look at the news additions of goalie Semyon Varlamov (acquired via trade with the Capitals) and rookies Gabriel Landeskog and Duncan Siemens (selected in the 2011 NHL Draft).
