(VIDEO) Joe Sakic Makes Hole-In-One During 2011 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship

Former Colorado captain Joe Sakic finished the 2011 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship in a tie for 11th overall place with Vinny Del Negro at 50 points (Stableford scoring system gives points for the outcome of each hole). But Sakic had the highlight of the day when he made a hole-in-one on the par-3 17th hole.

Just look at that:

Sakic used an 8-iron to make the shot on the 167-yard hole. And he needed to wait a few seconds before he learned that it went in on one shot. But when he did, the celebration began. I bet Sakic hasn't felt that good since he raised Lord Stanley's Cup in 2001. What would the equivalent of a hole-in-one be on the ice? Maybe it would be the goal the Denver Pioneers received from David Makowski: a 180-foot goal.

That hole-in-one won a $1 million prize, half of which will go to Lance Armstrong's cancer research foundation.
