Just one more game. Just one more game. That's what Colorado Avalanche fans are saying after Friday night's 3-2 loss to the Dallas Stars. It was the team's second loss in as many days against the Stars.
Brandon Yip tallied both goals for the Avalanche. His 11th goal of the season came in the second period on a shorthanded goal at 13:08. Five minutes into the third period, Yip netted his 12th goal of the season. Jonas Holos assisted on both goals.
The Stars started their scoring in the first period with a Mike Ribiero goal at 10:51. Loui Eriksson followed in the second period with his 27th goal of the season. And 40 seconds into the third period, Brenden Morrow gave the Stars their third goal of the night.
Peter Budaj faced 28 shots, while his offensive players failed to shoot the puck much. Dallas' Kari Lehtonen faced just 17 shots.
The Avalanche (29-44-8) finish the season on Sunday afternoon with a home game against the Edmonton Oilers, the worst team in the league. The two teams will hold the top two draft picks in June's draft.
