NHL Power Rankings 2011: Colorado Avalanche Check In At No. 26

The Avs continue to struggle in 2011.

The Colorado Avalanche are in fourth place in the Northwest Division and battling to get back to .500, and they've been sliding in the power rankings from various media outlets, which are aggregated by Real Clear Sports. The Avs are No. 26 in this week's aggregate rankings from RCS.

The Avalanche were ranked as high as No. 24 (by TSN) and as low as No. 28 (by ESPN). Although they've had their problems, there remains plenty of time for the Avalanche to get back into the playoff race, and they're just six points out of eighth in the Western Conference. They can get started at home on Friday night against the resurgent St. Louis Blues.
