Avalanche Vs. Sharks Score Update: San Jose Leads 3-1 After 2 Periods

The Colorado Avlanche have a 23-15 edge in shots on goal through two periods, but it is the San Jose Sharks who have done most of the scoring. After playing to a 1-1 tie at the end of the first period, the Sharks pulled ahead with a two-goal outburst in the second and lead the game 3-1.

Patrick Marleau got things started his second goal of the night, which occurred a little over seven-and-a-half minutes into the second period. Joe Pavelski lit the lamp for the Sharks about nine minutes after that.

San Jose has the edge in the faceoff circle so far tonight, while Colorado has out-hit the Sharks. The teams are a combined 0-5 on the power play.
