Avalanche Vs. Stars Score Update: Avs Hold Score At 1-0 After Two

The Avalanche kept firing away at Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen in the second period on Friday night, but they came up empty on the scoreboard. The Avs' 17 shots in the second period brought their total through two periods to 33, more than double the total for the Stars, but that advantage isn't exactly reflected in the score, as Colorado exited the second period with a slim one goal lead.

The Stars, for their part, picked up their play in the second, after putting only four shots on net in the first period. They didn't manage to put any of their 11 second period shots past Avs goalie Jean-Sebastian Giguere, but the uptick in shots alone indicates that the Avalanche will likely at least be tested in the third period as Dallas tries to make up the difference.
