Matt Duchene has been on an absolute tear in December, behind only Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby for points scored this month. Last week, Duchene tallied seven points (four goals and three assists) and scored a dramatic game winning goal in overtime against the Ottawa Senators, one of his two goals on the evening.

Newly acquired forward Tomas Fleischmann arrived in the Scott Hannan trade with the Washington Capitals two weeks ago, and is already making his presence known. In his nine games wearing a Colorado sweater, Fleischmann has scored 11 points. Last week, Fleischmann singlehandedly beat the Chicago Blackhawks with a third period hat trick, the first of his career. He earned Second Star honors behind his four goals and three assists for the week.
