The Colorado Avalanche are on a six-game winning streak after defeating the Montreal Canadiens, 3-2, on Sunday night. The Canadiens jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a Michael Cammalleri power play goal at 10:50, but it took the Avalanche until six seconds were left on the contract to tie the game. Ryan Wilson scored a power play goal, with assists going to Ryan O'Reilly and goalie Craig Anderson.
Alexandre Picard netted a power play goal for the Canadiens at 2:58 in the second period to put Montreal up 2-1. However, Kevin Porter answered back about a minute later to tie the game at two. T.J. Galiardi scored the go-ahead goal at 16:12, with Ryan O'Reilly gaining his second assist.
The Canadiens' Carey Price stopped 25 of 38 shots, while Colorado's Craig Anderson made 27 of 29 saves.
Ryan O'Reilly took the first star of the game for his two assists; Craig Anderson was the second star; and Michael Cammalleri was the third star for his first-period goal.
The Avalanche (19-10-4, 42 points) hold a two-point lead over the Vancouver Canucks in the Northwest division and will host the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday, Dec. 21.
