SB Nation released their NHL Week 4 Power Rankings earlier today, and the Colorado Avalanche find themselves directly in the middle of the Western Conference. Colorado is only one point out of first place in the Northwest Division, despite losing their starting goaltender, playing seven of their first 10 games on the road, and facing off against eight playoff teams from last season.
↵Sure, the defense may be suspect. But at least the offense is legitimate and the power play has potential (finally) . Give the Avalanche some credit, hockey bloggers. They've played above .500 hockey with a very difficult opening season schedule, and they've done it shorthanded.
