Things didn’t start off well for the Colorado Avalanche against the St. Louis Blues. Fifty-four seconds into the game, Blues center Alexander Steen snapped a wristshot off and put the puck past Peter Budaj. However, Avalanche defenseman John-Michael Liles scored two goals and assisted on the third goal (made by Paul Stastny).
Newly-acquired defenseman Ryan O’Byrne assisted on Liles’ second goal for his first point as a member of the Avalanche and his first point of the season. Chris Stewart assisted on two of the three goals and now has 20 points on the season.
Adam Foote returned to the ice tonight but has not played well so far.
The Avalanche have scored three goals on 11 shots against Jaroslav Halak, while Peter Budaj has stopped eight of nine shots.
