The Denver Broncos have had some fantastic defensive performances this season, and defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio has been getting accolades because of it. He is also starting to get linked to a couple of possible openings in the NFL head coaching market, as well as the vacant California-Berkeley position.
For his part, Del Rio isn't talking about possible head coaching gigs in his future, instead focusing all of his efforts on Denver's upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He said he hadn't heard of any openings, saying, "My concentration of late has been on getting my wife a birthday present and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers."
Del Rio has had plenty of head coaching experience in the past, leading the Jacksonville Jaguars for nine seasons from 2003 until 2011. He is currently in his first season as defensive coordinator for the Broncos, his second season in his career as a coordinator under John Fox. He originally held the position under Fox in 2002 with the Carolina Panthers.
Denver will face the Bucs at 2:05 p.m. MT on Sunday.
