When the Denver Broncos picked up Von Miller with the No. 2 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, they knew they were getting a great pass rusher. In his second year, Miller has started to earn some big accolades as he has put up sack after sack at almost a sack-a-game rate. (He has played in 25 NFL games so far in his career, with 24.5 sacks to show for it.)
During Denver's 30-23 win over the San Diego Chargers, he had one of his best games yet with three sacks and two forced fumbles.
In his latest Monday Morning Quarterback column for Sports Illustrated, Peter King started throwing some pretty high praise onto Miller, naming him one of the defensive players of the week for the NFL and comparing him to Lawrence Taylor, one of the greatest linebackers in the history of the NFL, as well as Hall of Fame linebacker and defensive end Derrick Thomas. At the young age of 23, that's high praise to be getting.
Miller will get another chance at a big game when he faces the weak Kansas City Chiefs offensive line in Denver's next game on Sunday.
