Willis McGahee will have an MRI on his right knee to diagnose an injury suffered in the second quarter of Sunday's 30-23 win over the San Diego Chargers. According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, McGahee will have the test on his knee on Monday to determine the full extent of what appeared to be a serious injury for the veteran running back.
McGahee went down at the end of an 8-yard run and did not return to the game. This season, the 10-year veteran has 676 yards rushing on 160 carries and four touchdowns. McGahee had 55 yards on seven carries when he suffered his knee injury in the second quarter.
The Broncos won for the fifth consecutive week on Sunday with the victory over the Chargers, moving to 7-3 after a rough start to the season with Peyton Manning under center. 25-of-42 for 270 yards, three touchdowns and one interception against San Diego, Manning is under serious MVP consideration in his first season with Denver after missing 2011 with a neck injury.
The Broncos next face Kansas City, with kickoff set for 11 a.m. MT on Sunday.
