Chargers vs. Broncos score update: Denver leads San Diego at halftime, 17-7

The Denver Broncos hold a 17-7 halftime lead over the San Diego Chargers at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver, Colo. Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning threw two touchdown passes in the opening half.

The Broncos found themselves down early after Manning was intercepted by Chargers safety Eric Weddle, who proceeded to run 23 yards to the end zone to give San Diego a 7-0 lead. However, Denver scored 17 unanswered points after that, capped off by Manning's 31-yard touchdown strike to Brandon Stokley with less than two minutes remaining in the half.

Denver's defense and special teams came up big, holding the Chargers to 54 total yards in the half and getting a key blocked punt to set up the late score. Broncos linebacker Von Miller had two tackles for a loss, including a sack, in the half.

Denver has racked up 229 yards of offense behind Manning, who completed 15-of-25 passes for 146 yards and the two scores. San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers struggled in the half, going 9-of-17 for 60 yards and an interception, guiding his team to just two first downs.
