Broncos vs. Chargers injury report: Dumervil sits out

The Broncos could be without the big defensive end as they face the San Diego Chargers this Sunday.

Ron Chenoy-US PRESSWIRE

The Denver Broncos will try to put three games of room between them and the San Diego Chargers in the AFC West standings this Sunday, but they may have to do it without a key player.

Veteran defensive end Elvis Dumervil didn't practice today as he continues to deal with a shoulder injury he sustained against the Carolina Panthers last week. Dumervil would be sorely missed by the Broncos if he's a no-go. Dumervil has five forced fumbles and seven sacks on the season, including two forced fumbles and two sacks against the Chargers just a few weeks ago.

Cornerback Tracy Porter is still out with symptoms related to a seizure he had in August. Elsewhere though, the Broncos are getting healthier with guard Chris Kuper limited in practice again with an ankle injury. Safety Jim Leonhard (calf) and defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson (calf) were both full participants in practice today.

With a win, the Broncos could almost lock up the division by moving to 7-3 and sending the Chargers to 4-6 on the season.
