The Denver Broncos travel to take on a Carolina Panthers team that is much better than the record may indicate.

Frank Victores-US PRESSWIRE

The Denver Broncos (5-3) travel to Bank of America Stadium to take on the Carolina Panthers (2-7) on Sunday.

The Panthers have won just two games in what has been a wholly disappointing season after Cam Newton's promising rookie year, yet Carolina has been competitive in nearly all of its losses. Just one of the Panthers' seven losses on the season has come by more than six points, as Carolina's above-average defense has allowed the team to stay within striking distance most days.

The Broncos, after a stumble in the opening month of the season, have found their stride with Peyton Manning under center. The veteran quarterback is putting together a MVP season and after three straight games, will lead the NFL's No. 4 passing offense against Carolina's No. 12 passing defense.

Denver heads into the game just 4.5-point favorites, with the total for the game set at 48.5 points.

The Denver Broncos will face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, with kickoff is set for 11 a.m. MT and coverage on CBS.
