Boise State fans had a lot to cheer about Saturday when the Broncos held on to beat Nevada, 27-21, in their regular season finale, giving them a share of the Mountain West title.
The Broncos now await their bowl fate, knowing they will play in the postseason, but hoping for a spot in the Las Vegas Bowl, the Mountain West's top bowl tie-in.
Fan Kevan Lee, over at One Bronco Nation Under God, was unsurprisingly happy with the team's victory, and cited a recovered on-side kick in the final minutes as a key to the win.
It was over when ...
D.J. Harper recovered the onside kick with two minutes left. The ensuing three-play series ran enough time off the clock to leave the Wolf Pack with a mostly unrealistic chance for a comeback win.
Looking forward, Lee acknowledged that the most likely destination for Boise State is the Las Vegas Bowl. The bowl has already announced that it will take either the Broncos or their co-champion Fresno State. But Lee was still holding out hope for a little bit more.
Boise State finds out its bowl fate tomorrow. It may be a BCS bowl if the universe has a brain fart, but it is more likely a Vegas Bowl.
Wherever that next game ends up, the Broncos will come into it winners of three straight after suffering their only conference loss against San Diego State on Nov. 3. The Aztecs also grabbed a share of the conference championship.
