Boise State vs. Hawai'i: Broncos look to rebound against Warriors

Boise State opens as heavy favorite on final Mountain West trip to Hawai'i.

Brian Losness-US PRESSWIRE

After suffering their first Mountain West Conference loss in almost a year, the Boise State Broncos return to action Saturday night against Hawai'i. Boise State has opened as a 29-point favorite.

Boise State was beaten by San Diego State 21-19 Saturday. It was only the program's second home loss since 2001, and dropped the Broncos completely out of the AP Poll (they are still ranked 24th in the Coaches' Poll). The loss also dropped Boise State out of the Mountain West Conference lead and into a tie for second, a half-game behind Fresno State and San Diego State.

If the Broncos are to remain in contention in their final season in the Mountain West, they will have to top Hawai'i. The season has been a struggle for the Warriors and first-year head coach Norm Chow. Hawai'i is 1-7 overall and winless in the Mountain West, and enters Saturday's game off a 45-10 blowout loss at Fresno State. Junior quarterback Sean Schroeder is the focal point of the Hawai'i offense, but has thrown nine interceptions while averaging just 181 yards per game.

Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. MT with broadcast available on the NBC Sports Network.
