Before Saturday, things had been looking good for the Boise State Broncos. They were winners of seven straight, were cruising in Mountain West play and were starting to climb in the national rankings.
Then the San Diego State Aztecs came to town.
The Aztecs scored a touchdown on the game's opening kickoff return and held on for a 21-19 upset win in Boise.
With the loss, Boise State fell from No. 19 in last week's AP Poll to out of the rankings entirely. The Broncos will look to rebound this coming weekend in Hawaii.
Meanwhile up top, the nation's best teams survived scares to hold down their top spots. Alabama is still the unanimous No. 1 after coming from behind to beat LSU. Oregon won a shootout against USC and is No. 2, Kansas State (No. 3) beat Oklahoma State by two touchdowns and No. 4 Notre Dame won a triple-overtime thriller over Pittsburgh.
Texas, Toledo and Rutgers all enter the rankings this week.
The complete AP Poll can be found here.
