After a loss to Michigan State to start the season, the Boise State Broncos have won four straight, but those wins haven't been enough to win over bloggers. With unimpressive victories over each BYU and New Mexico, the Broncos fell out of the rankings but climbed back to the doorstep with a 40-14 win over Southern Miss.
In the latest edition of SB Nation's BlogPoll, no team outside the top 25 received more votes than Boise State, which is just behind Iowa State for No. 25 after the Cyclones earned a 14-point victory over the TCU Horned Frogs, dropping the latter from the rankings. With a strong showing against a solid Fresno State team, the Broncos may be able to earn a spot back in the rankings.
The most notable part of the poll, though, is the shakeup at the top, where three of the teams in the top five are newcomers to the top of the rankings. Losses by Florida State, LSU and Georgia opened up the door for new teams. Strong victories over top 10 teams by South Carolina, West Virginia and Florida gave them the spots.
