The San Diego St. Aztecs upset the Nevada Wolf Pack on Saturday night, 39-38. The Aztecs' win, however, came with a steep price, as senior quarterback Ryan Katz was injured and will miss the rest of the season.
Katz went down with a fractured ankle, but still might be able to return if the Aztecs qualify for a bowl game.
Through SDSU's first eight games this season, Katz completed 99-of-163 passes for 1,348 yards, while throwing 13 touchdowns against just four interceptions.
San Diego St. is 5-3 so far on the season, including a 3-1 Mountain West Conference record. The Aztecs now hold a tiebreaker over Nevada, who is also 3-1 in the MWC.
The Aztecs will take on UNLV on Oct. 27, before headed to Boise State to take on the Broncos on Nov. 3. San Diego St. will play host to Air Force on Nov. 10.
