UNLV vs. Boise State: Broncos DE Demarcus Lawrence out after violating team rules

Boise State DE Demarcus Lawrence will miss Saturday's game against UNLV for violating team rules.

Boise State Broncos defensive end Demarcus Lawrence will not play on Saturday against the UNLV Rebels due to a violation of team rules, according to Chadd Cripe of the Idaho Statesman.

Lawrence, a sophomore from Aiken, S.C., leads the Broncos in sacks with 5.5. In addition, he 26 tackles, including six for a loss. He also has three forced fumbles, which placed him second in the Mountain West Conference and sixth in the NCAA. In Boise State's win over the Fresno State Bulldogs last week, Lawrence had two sacks and forced a fumble.

Boise State enters its game against UNLV at 5-1, and ranked No. 22 in the BCS standings. The Broncos' defense has carried the team to this point in the season, allowing 14.7 points per game, which is good for 12th in the country. Boise State also places highly in total yards allowed, ranking 28th in the nation while giving up 334.7 yards per game.
