With a strong defensive effort against a Fresno State team known for its ability to rack up big yardage, Chris Pederson's Boise State Broncos remained perfect in Mountain West Conference play on Saturday afternoon to stay near the top of the league standings.
Boise trails only a three-win Nevada team in the conference standings after seven weeks of the season, although the two programs are not scheduled to square off until their highly-anticipated season finale on Dec. 1. Slightly off the pace, and fully lucky to remain in the upper half of the standings after a narrow one-point win over Wyoming, the Air Force Falcons are also among a three-team group currently sitting at 2-1.
Still in search of their first win since upsetting Colorado back in Week 1, Colorado State fell into a tie for dead last in the league after a 24-point loss to San Diego State over the weekend. The Rams could face their easiest test yet however with a winless Hawaii team headed to Fort Collins this weekend, as the loser will effectively take sole possession of last place in the MWC.
