College Football Rankings, Week 3: Arkansas And Nebraska Among Top Teams Expected To Fall

The college football rankings for Week 2 will feature more changes after several top 25 teams lost on Saturday. The biggest loss of the day came in the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks' 34-31 overtime victory against the No. 8 Arkansas Razorbacks. The No. 13 Wisconsin Badgers, the No. 16 Nebraska Cornhuskers and the No. 18 Oklahoma St. Cowboys also lost.

Arkansas led Louisiana-Monroe, 28-7, with nine minutes left in the third quarter. However, Louisiana-Monroe went on to score three straight touchdowns, including the final touchdown of regulation with just 47 seconds left on the clock. Arkansas settled for a field goal on its opening possession of overtime, but ULM quarterback Kolton Browning ran for a touchdown on fourth down to win the game.

Wisconsin lost to the Oregon St. Beavers in Corvallis, Ore., 10-7. Montee Ball was held to 61 rushing yards on 15 carries. Nebraska played a back-and-forth game with the UCLA Bruins, but the game slipped away in the fourth quarter.

Oklahoma State allowed 30 straight points to the Arizona Wildcats over the first through third quarters and then gave up 21 in the fourth quarter. There was another Arizona touchdown in between those bursts of scoring, leading the final score to be 59-38 in favor of Arizona.

If any of these teams drops out of the AP poll, the Boise St. Broncos could be the team to move back into the rankings. They began the season at No. 24 and fell out after a loss to Michigan State last week. But they were the first team out, which could help them move back in this week.
