The first in-season AP poll is out and, as expected, the Boise St. Broncos are no longer in the top 25. They lost to the Michigan St. Spartans, 17-13, on Friday. The Broncos are the first team out, as they have 79 points. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who demolished Navy in Dublin, took the lone top 25 spot that was opened up over the weekend and came in at No. 22.
This is the first time since Sept. 2008 that Boise State has not been ranked in the AP Poll. That covers a span of 62 weeks, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
The Alabama Crimson Tide rose to No. 1 after defeating the Michigan Wolverines, 41-14. The USC Trojans moved out of the top spot even though they defeated the Hawaii Warriors. Michigan tumbled from No. 8 to No. 19. Oregon moved into No. 4 while Oklahoma dropped one spot to take No. 5, which has been Oregon's spot.
