BYU Vs. Boise State Score Update: Broncos Up 7-0 After 3 Quarters

The Boise State Broncos are leading the BYU Cougars in the fourth quarter, 7-0, with their only score coming on a pick-six by defensive tackle Michael Atkinson.

Joe Southwick is 12-for-21 for just 106 yards, but he's being smart with his throws and protecting the ball, which is more than BYU's Riley Nelson can say. The Broncos' secondary has intercepted Nelson three times. Jamar Taylor has one of those interceptions as well as a forced fumble on a sack. D.J. Harper has 109 yards on 25 carries.

Boise State missed a field goal in the first quarter, and ever since then, head coach Chris Peterson has been going for it on fourth down. Of the 8 drives following the missed field goal, three are punts and five ended with the ball being turned over on downs.

BYU is hanging in the game by virtue of a strong defense, including standing the Broncos up at the 1-yard line, but the Broncos have pulled ahead based on their own defensive performance and five turnovers from the Cougars.
