Coming into their game against each other on Thursday, the Boise St. Broncos (1-1) are on a high while the BYU Cougars (2-1) are on a major low. Boise State avenged their opening loss to the Michigan St. Spartans by putting a beatdown on the Miami Redhawks, while the Cougars lost a close game to the rival Utah Utes in Saturday action.
The Broncos are the favored team going into the game at Bronco Stadium, with an underrated offense that has the potential to put the hurt on the Cougars. Running back D.J. Harper and quarterback Joe Southwick have both been somewhat quiet early on in the season -- the uninspired loss to the Spartans didn't help -- but have a chance to redeem themselves against a BYU team that wants to get back into the top 25.
Both teams played Saturday, so there will be no rest for the weary with only five days between games. After that, both teams will be off for over a week.
Odds: Boise State favored by 5.5 points.
Game Time/TV: 7 p.m. MT, Thursday, Sept. 20, ESPN
