The Boise St. Broncos (0-1) play the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks (1-1) on Saturday to open their 2012 home schedule at Broncos Stadium. The Broncos are looking to rebound from their 17-13 road loss to the Michigan St. Spartans on Aug. 31

Quarterback Joe Southwick, succeeding Kellen Moore, was an unimpressive 15-of-31 for 169 yards and an interception. The ground attack also failed to gain any traction: The team combined for 37 yards on 24 carries. Michigan State, now No. 10, went on to stifle Central Michigan during Week 2, so the Broncos were playing a tough opponent while starting off a new era after losing a strong senior class in the spring.

The RedHawks also started the season off on a down note, being crushed by the Ohio St. Buckeyes, 56-10. The team did pick up a win the following week, but a 30-14 win over FCS Southern Illinois is hardly the best win out there. The RedHawks rushing attack is averaging just 2.1 yards on 53 carries, but senior quarterback Zac Dysert has thrown for 529 yards and completed 66.3 percent of his passes. That completion percentage should drop on Saturday.

Game time/date: 2:00 p.m. MT, Saturday, Sept. 15

Location: Broncos Stadium, Boise, Idaho

TV Schedule: NBC Sports Network

Odds: Boise opened as 19-point favorites, but it has since moved to 21 points.

Matchup History: Boise State leads, 1-0, after winning 2009's contest, 48-0.
