The Boise St. Broncos announced on Friday a future football opponent: the Utah State Aggies. The Broncos and the Aggies will play a home-and-home series over 2014 (Sept. 27) and 2015 (Sept 26). The first game will take place at Utah State and then shift over to Boise State in 2015.
This contest between the two teams had previously been a Western Athletic Conference game from 2005-10, but with the latest round of conference expansion, the Broncos will be in their second year as a member of the Big East (they move in 2013 after not wanting to pay the early exit fee) and Utah State will be ... somewhere. Indications are that the Aggies are a top candidate to join the Mountain West, the Broncos' home for one more season. But that could just be an early move for what will eventually result from the Mountain West and Conference USA alliance, merger or any other scheme they come up with over the next few months.
The Broncos start the 2012 season on Friday, Aug. 31, with a road contest against the Michigan St. Spartans in East Lansing, MI.
