Boise St. Broncos redshirt freshman Matt Miller was named to the 2011 FWAA Freshman All-America team. He was selected by a panel of 11 voters, who considered both true freshmen and redshirts. Miller was joined by USC's Marqise Lee and Clemson's Sammy Watkins at wide receiver.
Miller, 6-foot-3 and 213 pounds, caught 62 passes for 679 yards and nine touchdowns, which had him tied for most catches and in second place for the other two categories with the departing Tyler Shoemaker. He caught a career-high nine passes for 73 yards against TCU, but, as we know, a missed field sent the Broncos to a loss. He will need to work with a new quarterback in the fall now that Kellen Moore will graduate and move on to the NFL.
Also making the ream from the Mountain West was Wyoming Cowboys cornerback Blair Burns. Burns totaled 48 tackles and intercepted four passes.
