'The Whole [BCS] Needs To Be Changed,' Says Boise State Coach Chris Petersen

Since 2008, the Boise St. Broncos have been to one BCS bowl game, the 2010 Fiesta Bowl. The Broncos finished the season at 14-0 with a victory over the TCU Horned Frogs in that game. In 2008, the Broncos finished the regular season at 12-0 and didn't get a BCS bowl. In 2010, they went 11-1 and didn't receive a BCS berth. And in 2011, they finished the regular season at 11-1 and had no BCS game once again.

Head coach Chris Petersen has finally had enough. He told reporters that the BCS needs to be changed, that people are tired of it and

"It just seems like each year it's getting further and further away from anybody understanding what's going on," he said.

No team should feel entitled to making a BCS bowl game every year. Boise State had a one-point loss to TCU while Virginia Tech got thumped twice by Clemson. And let's not forget that West Virginia is in the Big East, so ... tell me Boise State doesn't deserve a BCS bowl over either team that gets an automatic conference bid.
