Week 14 BCS Standings, Pac-12: Stanford Moves Into Automatic BCS Bid Territory With No. 4 Ranking

The Colorado Buffaloes have a few years until they start competing for a BCS bowl bid in the Pac-12, but they did face two top 10 BCS teams that play in the conference: the Stanford Cardinal and the Oregon Ducks. In the Week 14 BCS rankings, the Stanford Cardinal moved to No. 4 and the Oregon Ducks moved one spot to No. 9.

The Ducks are headed to the Rose Bowl should they defeat the 6-6 UCLA Bruins in the Pac-12 Championship Game. For the Cardinal, things are a bit different. As long as they at No. 4, the team is guaranteed a BCS bowl bid. Their regular season is over, so their fate is left in the hands of the voters in the Coaches and Harris polls and the computer rankings. Things shouldn't change too much after Championship Weekend, allowing Stanford to join in the BCS festivities.

Stanford and Oregon combined to outscore the Buffs, 93-2, in those games. The Buffs definitely have a long way to go before they can start talking about the Rose Bowl and automatic BCS bids.
