The Boise St. Broncos better get ready for a pre-New Year's Day bowl game for another year if the BCS Guru has anything to say about it. Samuel Chi's Week 14 BCS projections are out and he has the Broncos move up to No. 6 after the Arkansas Razorbacks' loss to the No. 1 LSU Tigers. However, the rode to a BCS game for the Broncos will be tough, as this is how Chi sees it happening:
If the Pokes [Oklahoma State] win Bedlam, Michigan isn't eligible and no non-AQ team qualifies for a BCS spot, this is the only way for Boise State to swoop in and grab a BCS spot.
Those non-automatic qualifiers would be the Houston Cougars, which needs to win the conference championship game against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles next week and is projected as the No. 7 team this week, and the TCU Horned Frogs, which needs to move into the top 16 of the BCS in next week's final standings. Chi is projecting the No. 18 spot for them this week.
But outside of the intrigue for Boise State, an LSU-Alabama is still projected. I don't know, LSU's pretty much already proven it's the national champion with all of its impressive victories this season. Might be a bore of a game.
Here are Chi's Week 14 projections:
1. LSU, 2. Alabama, 3. Oklahoma State, 4. Virginia Tech, 5. Stanford, 6. Boise State, 7. Houston, 8. Arkansas, 9. Oklahoma, 10. Oregon, 11. Kansas State, 12. South Carolina, 13. Georgia, 14. Michigan State, 15. Wisconsin, 16. Michigan, 17. Baylor, 18. TCU.
