After a lethargic opening quarter, the Boise St. Broncos seemed to find their rhythm in the second quarter, scoring two TD's to take a 13-7 lead over Wyoming heading into the half.
The story of the first quarter was the uncharacteristically shaky performance from senior QB Kellen Moore, who threw an interception and completed only 2/6 throws. Moore bounced back in the second quarter for the Broncos, showing the accuracy he is known for and completing a 46-yard TD pass to Matt Miller with just seconds remaining in the half. Miller leads the Broncos with 51 yards receiving after the opening half.
With Moore struggling at times, the Broncos relied on the ground game to wrestle back the momentum. Doug Martin led the way, rushing for 69 yards on 15 carries and a TD. D.J. Harper added 26 yards on seven carries for Boise St. The Broncos defense was also quite effective in the opening half, limiting Wyoming to only 80 total yards.
