The Boise St. Broncos enter this game against the Wyoming Cowboys as huge favorites, 34 points several days after the line opened at 31 points. This isn't quite a David vs. Goliath matchup as the spread would indicate. The Cowboys are 7-3 this season and much improved from last year's down season of 3-9. Much of that can be credited to the offensive play of true freshman quarterback Brett Smith. He has completed 60.7 percent of his passes for 2,226 yards and 15 touchdowns. On the ground, he's 518 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is the favorite to win the Mountain West Freshman of the Year award.
On the opposite side of things, Kellen Moore is finishing his college time with the most career NCAA victories, which stands at 47 after last week's victory over the San Diego St. Aztecs. The Broncos still have a small chance at taking a BCS at-large bowl bid, but there will need to be multiple losses over the next two Saturdays for that to happen. Arkansas losing on Friday was one part of what could take the Broncos back up in the BCS standings.
