After losing three of its last four, the Air Force Falcons opened as only one-point favorites against the Rice Owls.

The Air Force Falcons opened as 1.5-point favorites over the Rice Owls for the 2012 Armed Forces Bowl, according to OddsShark.

Both teams enter the game with 6-6 records, although Rice finished its season with four consecutive conference victories to earn bowl eligibility, while Air Force lost three of its last four, including the season finale to Fresno State, 48-15.

The two teams have only faced each other three times, with the Falcons earning the victory in all three games. The last meeting between the two was in November 1998 and Air Force edged Rice 22-16 despite entering the game as a 22.5-point favorite.

With the over/under set at 61, the game is expected to be a relatively high scoring affair, as each team averages more than 28 points both offensively and defensively. The Armed Forces Bowl is scheduled to kickoff at 10:45 a.m. CT Dec. 29 at Amon Carter Stadium, the home of the TCU Horned Frogs.
