Air Force vs. San Diego State final: Aztecs win 28-9

Despite being out-gained 393-268 in total yardage, the San Diego State Aztecs (8-3, 6-1 MWC) beat the Air Force Falcons (5-5, 4-2 MWC) by a score of 28-9 Saturday.

Air Force scored first on a field goal by Parker Herrington early in the first quarter, but San Diego State followed with 28 unanswered points. Adam Muema had a 20-yard touchdown run late in the first to give SDSU the lead.

Muema scored his second touchdown of the game early in the second quarter to make it 14-3. Early in the third quarter, Air Force quarterback Connor Dietz was sacked and fumbled. SDSU's Everett Beed recovered and returned it 50 yards for a touchdown.

SDSU scored again on a 2-yard pass from Adam Dingwell to Chad Young with 5:21 left in the third.

Wes Cobb scored the only Air Force touchdown of the game on a 5-yard run late in the third. Air Force missed the 2-point conversion attempt.

Dingwell was 11 for 18 for 90 yards. Air Force turned the ball over four times.

Box Score Hero: SDSU running backs Adam Muema and Walter Kazee combined to carry the ball 38 times for 187 yards and two touchdowns, helping the Aztecs control the ball.

Rankings Ramifications: Neither team was ranked, and this result is unlikely to change that for San Diego State.

But Did They Cover? SDSU was favored by 7, so the Aztecs covered.

Next Week's Schedule: Air Force hosts Hawaii Nov. 16. San Diego State plays at Wyoming Nov. 24.
