Air Force punter David Baska has been named a Mountain West Conference player of the week for special teams. Baska averaged 42.5 yards per punt in the Academy's 28-27 come-from-behind win against the Wyoming Cowboys.
Baska's four punts included one downed at Wyoming's one-yard line, and a 51-yarder that flipped field position in Air Force's favor on his last punt of the day. Baska is averaging 45 yards per punt on the season, and Air Force ranks 3rd nationally in net punting.
Nevada's Stefphon Jefferson was named the MWC offensive player of the week, rushing for 185 yards and three touchdowns to help the Wolf Pack defeat their arch-rival UNLV Rebels. Nevada had a comeback of their own, at one point trailing 21-0 before winning, 42-37.
The defensive player of the week was linebacker Jake Fely of San Diego State. Fely recorded 13 tackles, including 3.5 for loss, and recovered a fumble in the Aztecs' 38-14 win over the Colorado State Rams.
