The Air Force Falcons have released their depth chart for their season opening game against Idaho State on Saturday. There are five positions that are up for grabs, and the biggest position that does not have a starter is at the running back spot. Wes Cobb, Cody Gets and Jon Lee are all vying for that starting spot.
The senior Cobb should have the edge since he has the most experience and is the team's leading returning rusher. With Air Force's run heavy offense, and that it is playing a FCS opponent, expect all three to get carries on Saturday.
On the defensive side of the ball, there are four other position battles at various spots. The defensive end position could be a big deal because if Alexander Hansen starts on Saturday he would become just the second freshman since Alex Means in 1981 to earn a starting defensive spot as a freshman for a season opener.
The other position battle is for the starting free safety spot between Christian Spears and Anthony LaCoste.
