The Air Force Falcons baseball team fell to 3-5 on the season with an 8-2 defeat at the hands of Gardner-Webb on Friday afternoon. Starting pitcher Brock Wilson went 6.3 innings for Gardner-Webb, allowing just two hits while striking out three and walking three.
The Falcons were held scoreless for the first three innings before they finally got on the board with a couple of runs in the fourth. David Thomas knocked in one run with a sacrifice fly, and Jake Schomaker followed that up with an RBI single to center. While Air Force cut Gardner-Webb's lead in half to 4-2 at that point, the Falcons would not get any closer. Pitching was the story for GWU; Air Force managed a total of four hits all afternoon.
