Air Force Vs. Alcorn State Final Score: Falcons Pick Up 1st Win With 6-1 Victory Over Braves

The Air Force Falcons are 1-2 to start the season following a 6-1 victory over the Alcorn St. Braves on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons avenged Friday's 7-5 loss and will close out the 2012 LSU Tournament by facing the LSU Tigers right after this game.

The Falcons received a strong start from Cameron White. He allowed one run on five hits over seven innings while striking out five and walking two. That one run scored on a sac fly in the second inning: Jann Butler doubled and then advanced to third on a wild pitch before Ryan Akins hit the sac fly. Alex Baker and Ben Yokley finished the game for the Falcons, each with a scoreless inning of work.

Air Force struck first with Alex Bast doubling in Taylor Ausbun in the first. The game stayed tied at one until the eighth inning. Matthew Roberts and Blair Roberts put runs on the board with a fielder's choice sacrifice and a sac bunt. A couple of wild pitches and an error in the ninth allowed Air Force to tack on three more runs.
