Air Force Vs. LSU Final Score: Kevin Gausman Strikes Out 7 On Way To 10-2 LSU Victory

The Air Force Falcons dropped to 0-2 to start the season, losing its second game of the day on Friday night. The No. 8 LSU Tigers defeated the Falcons, 10-2, for its first wins of the season.

Denver native Kevin Gausman (1-0, 1.50 ERA) was on the mound for the Tigers and he turned in a solid Opening Night performance. After allowing a solo home run to Garrett Custons in the first inning, Gausman settled down and went on to pitch six complete innings of ball. He allowed just three more hits and zero runs while striking out seven and walking two.

The Tigers struck for five runs in the first inning and four in the second. Shortstop Austin Nola, a Colorado Rockies 48th round draft pick in 2008, went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored. One run came on an RBI ground out in the first and the other a single to center field in the second.

LSU will have Ryan Eades on the mound Saturday night when they face Alcorn State, the other team in the 2012 LSU Tournament.
